memories of December

December was crazy as usual, even more so for us because we celebrate two birthdays before Christmas plans even begin. The extra birthday cakes and ice cream go great with all the extra sweets of the season.  This year we took the kids back to Jumping Jacks, (bounce house heaven and a great place to get energy out) they each invited a buddy. Van came in handy once again.
Jonas is loving learning Spanish in school and is getting into reading books. He is really picking up and using the same humor and sarcasm that his papa uses and loves getting together with friends.  Savannah is very proud of getting older. She loves to tell people how old she is now and loves to frequently name all the people she is older than. She spends lots of time at the table doing art, but also loves dancing, singing, and everything to do with princesses.
Birthday boy is 7 this year

"I"m four years old!"

Savannah had some special experiences this Christmas. First of all, she had been talking about Christmas and how excited she was for it practically all year long. As part of her joy school, she got to be in a nativity, where she was able to play the part of Mary and on another occasion she got to be the angel.

Then she did a wonderful job playing the part of a very cute snowflake in the nutcracker. This was especially fun for me because of how much sentimental love I have for the nutcracker ballet.

Then we headed to the SLC for fun with family for Christmas

Upgrade

Time for footies!

The kids were spoiled by their Aunt Mo for their birthdays

Jonas takes his hot chocolate making duties on Sunday morning very seriously

We got home before James the other day after church and discovered we were locked out of the house, so I took the opportunity to take some pictures while we waited for James to get home with the key. I was grateful to have a moment to just sit down and pay attention to the kids for a while.

Our exciting news - we are expecting baby #4 next year and we now have a new golden Kia so that we will be able to fit our whole family in a car once baby comes along. It was time for an upgrade. Jonas had ridden home in a friends' vehicle and told me " you know what I like about their car? It's easy to buckle the seat belts." He was used to being scrunched with two other car seats in the back of our Honda where it was often difficult to find his seatbelt let alone buckle it. This is our new family vehicle. I've never been one to get very attached to a car before, but it's soooo nice to have the space that this van is quickly becoming one of my favorite things. It makes me happy.

October Events

"It's gonna be a baby witch pumpkin"
Earlier this month we got to visit the farm of a friend and pick some of their pumpkins.
Jonas is amazed that he can carry this enormous pumpkin

one handsome dude with a giant pumpkin

the cutest little pumpkin of all

Dax turned 1 yr old. He had two parties one at each of his grandparents homes. He wasn't feeling well and fussed and cried through both parties.  He truly is a very cute and fun kid when he is happy, too bad relatives did n't get to see his happy side very much. This kid LOVES: looking at board books and electronic devices,  throwing balls, watching dogs, wrestling with his brother, standing up in his high chair, eating pretty much anything, oh and pulling everything he can out of kitchen cupboards. He also loves his mommy :)

This year we have a dementor, Belle, and a puppy dog

Happy October!

 At the rodeo
James is explaining to Jonas all about cowboys n stuff.
Jonas' other front tooth was dangling by a thread for about a week. He finally lost it and we like his new toothless grin.

Something Jonas does that makes me laugh although it probably shouldn't is when he pretends to be a drunken pirate

School, Karate, Dance

I know I'm biased, but isn't this the cutest little karate dude you have ever seen?

1st day of 1st grade.

My little bubba chubba is growing up. I get my exercise at church on Sunday taking him in and out of meetings for screaming and running after him as he race crawls down the aisle and hall.

My friend was signing her daughter up for dance and talked me into signing Savvy up. She LOVES to dance and I have fun dressing her up in her little dance outfit.

We had to say goodbye to some cousins. We don't get to see them as much as we want to anyways and now it will be longer in between visits, but at least they are moving to the south so we're fixin on a visit sometime.
